UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Full-Time Behavioral Health Therapist I to support the offices in Seneca.

The purpose of this job is to be part of a collaborative care team to provide behavioral health assessments and brief treatment in the primary care medical home. This level of service is equivalent to outpatient.
Screen and assess patients for common behavioral health disorders. Facilitate patient engagement and follow-up care.
Systemically track treatment response and monitor patients (in person or via telemedicine) for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications.
Provides brief evidenced based intervention (behavioral activation, PMT, MI, Psycho-education, PST) to patients and families in the program and engages families in the assessment and treatment processes when indicated.
Completes clinical documentation on the same day of service delivery. Clinical documentation required for every clinical appointment (face to face or telemed), psychiatric consultation, and telephone contact.
Reviews cases with psychiatric consultant and attends required supervision (individual, group, peer) at least once per week.
Assesses changing needs of patients per guidelines of the collaborative care model, and incorporates these into treatment plan and treatment plan review.
Under direct supervision, conducts assessments of new patients using the identified format for documentation and clinical decisions regarding treatment, interventions and referrals, as instructed. Implements, improves, and adapts concepts, models, and constructs of treatment for application in service delivery to patients.
Manages and tracks a registry of patients with clinical data and demonstrates an understanding of when patients need additional services. Discusses need for additional services with the clinical team to determine appropriateness of recommendations. Refers patients to other levels of care if on-going behavioral health therapy is needed.
Collaborates directly with pediatrician as part of collaborative care team
Able to translate clinical skills to a telemedicine platform.
Able to manage and build relationships with pediatricians in multiple offices
Master's degree in psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required. (Successfully completed the educational requirements as defined in practicing state's code)
One year of clinical experience preferred. Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred.
Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Passed the examination required by 49.11. relating to licensure examination
Must sign a license agreement and be actively working to obtain the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), or Licensed Family Marriage Therapist (LMFT) within 30 months of hire.
