Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are looking to hire a material handler/forklift operator for a third-party logistics company. In this role, you will be responsible for using a forklift to load chemical drums, transporting them to the staging dock, and labeling them. This position requires attention to detail and comfort with training on the first shift for the initial two weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift to load and transport chemical drums.

  • Use a paper pick sheet to locate and move items.

  • Label chemical drums accurately.

  • Ensure attention to detail in a chemical facility.

  • Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing steel-toed boots/shoes.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months experience with forklifts and pallet jacks.

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a warehouse environment.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to work on the first shift for initial training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with material handling equipment such as sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.

  • No specific education requirements.

  • Good attendance record.

Work Environment

Our Client has developed a reusable polyethylene (PE) liner for trailers to reduce packaging costs by more than 40%. The warehouse is managed by WSI, which has about 40 employees between the floor and management. The position is for the second shift, from 2 pm to 10 pm, Monday to Friday, with training on the first shift for the first two weeks. Steel-toed shoes are required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
