Guthrie Case Coordinator - Psychiatry Service Line - Per Diem in Sayre, Pennsylvania

Position Summary:

To provide clinical management of the patients in Behavioral Health. This entails liaison efforts among the attending psychiatrists, the multi‐disciplinary treatment team, any outside referral sources and third party payors to ensure that the care provided both inpatient and outpatient meets the needs of the individuals in the most cost effective manner possible.

Education, License & Cert:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in psychology or related field; or BSN.

Experience:

Minimum of two years in psychiatric field or in utilization management. Five years or more of successful experience in the psychiatric field may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.

Essential Functions:

  1. Collaborates with all internal and external members of the treatment team to coordinate the appropriate care for the patient before, during, and upon discharge.

  2. Actively develops professional interactions with outside resources for effective patient referral/admission process and aftercare planning.

  3. Communicates trends and developments in various referral sources/communities to the Administrative Staff.

  4. Demonstrates leadership skills including effective written and verbal communication, conflict resolution, problem solving, time management, and appropriate delegation.

  5. Coordinates and processes utilization review and billing.
