Cattaraugus & Wyoming Counties Project Head Start Bus Monitor in Salamanca, New York

Salamanca. Bus Monitor. Cattaraugus & Wyoming Counties Project Head Start. FT. 1st Shift. Benefits.

SCOPE: 1.Reports to the Center Supervisor. Accountable to Education Coordinator and Transportation Coordinator. 2.Responsible for assisting the Bus Driver monitor children while being transported to and from the center. 3.Provide assistance with program activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Valid New York State driver license and automobile available for work. Preference is given to those with a CDL with proper endorsements. 2.Clear driving record. 3.High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

MAJOR DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Supervise children, parents, and other authorized persons to and from program activities center based and home based in accordance with established routes and schedules. 2.Help ensure that children and others are safely on and off the bus and dismissed to authorized persons. Walking to and from the bus in wet, slippery weather to help children. 3.Complete end of the run Bus Interior Child Check Sheet at the end of each run to ensure No Child Is Left Behind on the Bus. Each staff is required to sign off on said list. 4.Maintain classroom and center in a clean, safe and educationally sound manner. 5.Provide classroom support and active supervision of children during class times. Participate in classroom activities and provide mealtime support as needed.
6.Work in partnership with all staff to facilitate program operations in compliance with Head Start regulations, guidelines and performance standards.

MISCELLANEOUS: 1.This is a job that makes modest physical demands (such as lifting children whose average weight is approximately 50 pounds) regularly; there may be evening work. 2.Make provisions for substitute pursuant to policy; notify assigned supervisor as soon as possible. 3.Must obtain and maintain certificate in First Aid and CPR. 4.Participate in training and center meetings. 5.Other duties as assigned.
