Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative support to the RIT Honors Program

  • Provide financial support to the RIT Honors Program, including but not limited to reconciliation of departmental procurement cards and travel expense reports, budget transfers via journal entries, creation and execution of purchase orders, coordination with financial officers of affiliated units on campus, and transfers of stipends to student e-services accounts

  • Coordinate program visibility (office communications and calendaring)

  • Manage website and participate in marketing efforts

  • Coordinate, organize, and communicate administrative data

  • Assist with planning and facilitation of program events

  • Perform other tasks and special projects as requested

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of related administrative, office programmatic experience

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience

  • Special skills and/or behavioral competencies:

  • Proficiency with office applications (Microsoft Office, Google) including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and calendaring

  • Strong interpersonal skills (e.g., hospitable, articulate, diplomatic, inclusive)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and remain productive with minimal supervision

  • Basic knowledge of generally-accepted accounting practices, and ability to effect financial transactions ethically and accurately

  • Experience with budgets and budget development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of RIT systems: Oracle, SIS, Kronos

  • Experience creating effective, multi-modal forms of communication (e.g., documents, websites, social media).

  • Experience working with a database

  • Bachelor's degree (any subject)

The RIT Honors Program is an office of three people that serves approximately 5% of the undergraduate student body. We strive to provide high-impact, enriching experiences for students, including personal advising and mentoring during their time at RIT. The Honors Program office is part of the Division of University Studies.

Job Summary:

This position provides professional administrative support to the staff and student body (approximately 750 students) of the RIT Honors Program. It is a full-time, 12-month position that requires handling compliance-related work with confidentiality and discretion, attention to detail, and creative problem solving.
