You are viewed by patients, families and staff as a necessary, helpful, and educational resource.STATUS: Full Time LOCATION: Unity Hospital DEPARTMENT: RespiratorySCHEDULE: Day/Night 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am | Rotating Weekends and Holidays ATTRIBUTESAssociate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent certificate is requiredThree (3) or more years of previous full time critical care experience in respiratory care requiredDemonstrated leadership skillsExcellent communication, organization and interpersonal skillsRESPONSIBILITIES Evaluation & Development. Review and evaluate all pertinent and existing data in patient record; modify therapeutic techniques based on patient response; initiate and update respiratory care plan for all patients per department policy and procedureLeadership. Advise providers on appropriate respiratory care procedures and techniques for individual patient care; recommend, conduct and document prescribed therapeutic procedures; coach, mentor and train new staffEquipment Management. Select, assemble and check respiratory care equipment for proper function, operation and cleanlinessEDUCATION: AS: Respiratory Therapy (Required)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)RT - Respiratory Therapist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)PAY RANGE: $36.00 - $47.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
