Job Description:

*Highland Hospital is looking for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its Internal Medicine team. Highland has created some new roles for their Internal Medicine team to help support our team. These newly created roles will alleviate patients volumes for other providers and will make for smoother patient flow into the hospital. Candidates for this role will work overnights although the schedule is flexible. Opening to 10 or 12 hour shifts and open to discussion during the interview process.

Some duties include but are not limited to:

Admit patients to the HH Department of Medicine Service, predominantly from the Emergency Department

Work alongside a physician Nocturnist to managed newly admitted patients; to help provide medical coverage for admitted patients when necessary.

Complete history and physical exams on assigned DOM admissions including medication reconciliation, complete all orders including appropriate labs and diagnostic testing, medications, therapy evaluations, etc. Consult appropriate services for any acute issues identified on admission. Discuss and collaborate with attending MD on plan of care. Communicate plans of care with patients and families.

Salary Range:

$93,000.00 - $119,642.00 annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements:

1. Education : Fulfilled the requirements to be a licensed PA or NP in NYS.

2. Experience: 1 year experience preferred

3. License/Certification Required : Valid NYS license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. BLS/ACLS certified.

4. Skills: Epic EMR trained preferred.. Management and resuscitation of unstable patients. Management of respiratory failure including proficiency with standard modes of non-invasive ventilation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional behavior, and commitment to quality care; ability to work autonomously; excellent interpersonal skills.
