Klein Steel Service Marketing Specialist in Rochester, New York

General Description:

The Marketing Specialist assumes responsibility for developing and implementing marketing initiatives to create and deliver long-term, sustainable value to Klein Steel. Maintains a consistent brand image throughout all Marketing programs and initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Brand Image:

  • Creates a competitive analysis, and continues to monitor, to maintain a consistent brand image for the company. This includes working with the Outside Sales Representatives to understand the market.

  • Plan and oversee advertising and promotional activities including print, collateral, radio, public relations, online, social media, videos, giveaways, facility tours, etc.

  • Research and maintain an understanding of industry trends, tactics and tools.

  • Benchmark external best practices, creating/maintaining a catalog of references.

  • Coordinate community recognition awards that are consistent with Klein’s brand image (such as Rochester’s Top 100 Award, AMM Metals Service Center of the Year, etc.).

Website/Newsletter:

  • Maintain the company website, making updates as required.

  • Lead the Klein Steel’s catalog, e-newsletters and team member newsletter.

Social Media:

  • Become the in-house expert in social media, and execute the external presence on media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. on a routine basis.

Team Member Culture:

  • Coordinate and facilitate Company events with support from the Culture Committee/ Human Resources.

  • Coordinate all branded apparel activities from order placement through receipt.

  • Handle the logistics for Klein Steel customer tours and events (e.g., nametags, food, gifts).

  • Administer company social media accounts to promote Klein Steel as an employer of choice.

  • Assist HR with the marketing of the wellness program and recruiting posts.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university along with 2–3 years related experience and/or training.

  • Training and/or experience in marketing, graphic design, social media required.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and word processing.

  • Functions well in a high energy work environment, exhibiting a positive attitude.

  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
