DescriptionSUMMARYThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing direct patient care, usually under the direction of a Registered Nurse, in accordance with established plans. The Acute General Medicine Unit (4800) specializes in the care of patients with substance abuse, mental illness and a multiplicity of medical diagnoses. 4800 offers LPNs the opportunity to master clinical skills in: cardiac requiring telemetry, diabetes, kidney disease, dialysis, pulmonary issues, and patients with multiple drips, drains & catheters.STATUS: Full Time (36/hrs per week)LOCATION: Rochester General HospitalDEPARTMENT: Acute General Medicine (4800)SCHEDULE: NIGHTS, every other Weekend/HolidayATTRIBUTESCompassionate, warm and patient focusedCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervisionExceptional documentation skills and professional behaviorAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentRESPONSIBILITIESPatient Satisfaction. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using computerized medical record processPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)PAY RANGE: $24.25 - $28.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants.
