$23-$24 per hour plus generous benefits

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources (Director), the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for the administrative of personnel record keeping requirements in accordance with State and Federal laws and regulations. The position also includes management of benefit enrollments, benefit reviews for new and exiting staff, management of disability, paid family leave and FMLA leaves, responding to employment verifications, keeping all employment boards across the Association in compliance and providing routine HR support to all YMCA locations. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester are conveyed.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Communicate effectively and support branches regarding routine HR questions.

· Provide HR Support to Director of Administration and office managers in branches.

· Manage benefit enrollment and exit process for all eligible employees, including meeting with staff and managing benefit portal(s).

· Manage disability, FMLA and PFL claims. Assist with worker’s comp requirements and leaves.

· Maintain and update electronic employment postings folder for branch use. Visit branches to ensure compliance of employment board postings. Maintain and update employment posting board at Association office.

· Maintain filing system for all employment paperwork.

· Prepare all required reports on prescribed schedule and as needed basis.

· Respond to any employment verifications.

· Assist in the overall facility appearance, related equipment, and safety issues.

· Attend all required meetings, events, and trainings.

Requirements

· Must be at least 21 years of age.

· Must have a high school diploma or GED. Associate degree in business or human resources preferred.

· Must have at least two years’ customer service experience and at least one year’s experience in Human Resources.

· Possess knowledge of applicable Federal and State employment law, posting requirements, and general payroll practices.

· Experience in utilizing HR/Payroll software; Paylocity preferred but not required.

· Must have excellent keyboarding skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

· Must be able to maintain confidentiality and have a high degree of interpersonal skills.

· Must have demonstrated the ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and exercise sound judgment.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills required.

· Ability to work in a self-directed environment.

· Must be able to travel site to site on an occasional basis.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to sit or stand for extended duration of shift.

· Must be able to bend and stoop frequently.

· Must be able to lift up to fifteen pounds.

· Must be able to travel from site to site.

Salary Description

$23-$24 per hour
