General Maintenance Mechanic

The job duties are as follows:
Installs, repairs, dismantles any mechanical equipment throughout the factory, including the electronic and hydraulic controlling mechanisms. Replaces worn or broken parts with stock parts if possible; otherwise makes or repairs such parts by setting up and operating the necessary machines. Must be able to align shafting, fit gears, pour and scrape bearings and guides, producing a first-quality job. Checks own work upon completion for safe and proper mechanical operation. Checks equipment periodically to ascertain that it is in working order. Builds new devices for use in the factory. Responsible for operating the necessary equipment for snow removal as required. Must have various welding techniques.
Works to prints and instructions with very little supervision. Directs helper or helpers as necessary.
Makes basic repairs and installations on electrical equipment and wiring. Checks electrical equipment for proper operation and replaces worn or broken parts with stock parts as required.
Experienced with the function and operation of general industry machine tools, including lathes, mills, VTL’s, VBM’s, etc., in both manual and CNC control configuration. Experienced with troubleshooting malfunctions in general industry machine tools. Experienced with repairing general industry machine tool components, including gearboxes, cross slides, spindle mechanisms, coolant systems, pumping devices, tail stocks, chucking devices, bearing assemblies, etc. Experienced in performing machine tool alignment requirements. Experienced with repair of machine tool ancillary equipment, including chip conveyors, high-pressure coolant systems, rotary tables, etc. Experience in conducting preventative maintenance (PM) on general industry machine tools.
May be required to help Electricians. May also do basic plumbing repairs, installations, and adjustments.
All members of the group will follow all current standard operating procedures. All members are responsible for quality of their workmanship and must follow all safety and housekeeping procedures and work in a safe manner at all times. All members of the group will train others in the various functions.
Certifications/Requirements: Crane Operation, Tow Motor, LOTO, Confined Space, Boom Lift, Scissor Lift

Starting pay $31.16 per hour. After 90 days of employment, pay increases to $32.73 per hour.
