Position Summary:
The Facilities Engineer acts a subject-matter technical expert for facility-related projects including build-outs, building structural repair and maintenance projects, HVAC, and related building mechanical systems projects. In addition, this role acts a project manager for facility projects providing coordination between internal resources and external contractors as necessary. This, in addition to a demonstrated competency in cost estimating will ensure projects are defined, approved, and executed according to established budgets and timelines.
Job Responsibilities:
Establish project Gantt charts for facilities projects, detailing timing, dependencies, and budget summaries for project milestones
Provide project management oversight for facility construction projects including; sub-contractor management and coordination, internal facilities maintenance scheduling, and equipment supply timing
Author capital appropriations to include budgetary costs, return on investment considerations, and investment option comparisons for facility projects
Review facility mechanical and electrical systems for preventative maintenance, repair, and/or replace strategies for long term capital planning and short term repair activities
Create mechanical CAD model layouts for build-out, machine asset, and office configuration analysis and sub-contractor engagement, design and draw layouts
Working with Environmental, Health, and Safety management, ensure all internal and external resources are properly trained/credentialed to perform work scope on facility projects
Assist facility maintenance technicians with engineering-level technical support as-needed
Solve complex problems including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and other common building system content
Assist in the long-term strategic planning for the facility, recommend methods for improving worker efficiencies including reorganization of work flows, relocation of workstations, and equipment
Ability to organize and lead internal teams for facility related projects and needs
Provide shared off-shift coverage for facility issues as they arise
Preferred Education
A.S. or B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or similar engineering technologies or disciplines
Preferred Training
Proficiency in AutoCAD mechanical design software
OSHA Safety Training
Preferred Experience:
2+ years in facilities/construction engineering role including industrial plant experience
Demonstrated success in facility maintenance/engineering tasks in large industrial facility
Execution of complex projects including HVAC, mechanical, and/or electrical high voltage systems, sub-systems, and component content
Cost estimation and project scheduling
Electrical and Liquefied Natural Gas energy optimization and system investment projects
Knowledge of building permits and relevant federal, state, and local building code
Knowledge of floor and roof construction, hoists, cranes, capital equipment layouts
Computer Skills:
