Job Responsibilities:

Implementation of CourseLeaf Curriculum Management System CAT (Catalog) and CIM (Curriculum) Modules

  • Serve as program administrator and lead analyst for the new curriculum management system, overseeing its implementation.

  • Work closely with vendor migration team to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.

  • Partner with university stakeholders to analyze current business practices, gather and review all necessary documentation, and design curriculum work flows. This involves reviewing existing curricular policies from various entities such as RIT governance, NYSED, US DOE, and RIT’s institutional accreditor.

  • Test functionality of newly-developed work flows and forms.

  • Manage an extensive set of roles and assign user responsibilities to facilitate routing of proposals through an automated workflow, adhering to curriculum review policies.

  • Develop documentation and conduct training sessions for faculty and staff on how to effectively use the new system.

  • Serve as an approver during the migration phase of the new system, which involves reviewing and verifying all migrated data to ensure its accuracy and quality.

Academic Program and Curriculum Management

  • As a team member, participate in stewarding historical curricular records and providing guidance to faculty and administrators for a wide variety of curricular actions, ensuring compliance with processes, policies and regulations at the university level, state and national education departments, and RIT’s institutional accreditor.

  • Maintain website that provides guidance to RIT faculty and administrators for new and changing academic programs.

  • Attend training and maintain current knowledge and skills necessary to facilitate best practices in curriculum management.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years project management experience and/or experience with academic program management in higher education

  • 3-5 years experience utilizing systems analysis skills and software systems to achieve successful operational and technical outcomes.

Communication Skills

  • Excellent public speaking, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders by initiating, establishing, and fostering communication and teamwork in a positive work atmosphere.

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in technology systems, data workflows and reporting, and ability to collaborate with campus partners to resolve issues.

  • Proficiency in computer applications including database management tools, and online content management systems.

  • Ability to function as the primary administrator for an enterprise-wide software application, providing training and customer support, testing software upgrades and patches, and working with the vendor to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

  • Working knowledge of basic web publishing or a willingness to learn.

Project Management Skills

  • Proficiency in project management, including planning, prioritizing, and executing a variety of projects that must be completed simultaneously and on time.

  • Working knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.

Other Skills

  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise professional judgment.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CourseLeaf or similar enterprise-wide curriculum management system in higher education

  • Experience in creating documentation and providing training on applications and technology usage.

  • Strong testing skills for enterprise-wide software applications.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for off-site training programs.

The Academic Program and Curriculum Management department, in the Office of the Vice Provost, is responsible for overseeing academic program development and supporting the life cycle of all academic programs at the university. This department is the steward of historical curricular records and provides guidance to faculty and administrators for a wide variety of curricular actions, ensuring compliance with processes, policies and regulations at the university level, state and national education departments, and RIT’s institutional accreditor.

Job Summary:

The Curriculum Systems Analyst reports to the Academic Program Manager. In addition to actively contributing to the Academic Program and Curriculum Management team’s ongoing responsibilities, the primary responsibility of this position for the first three years is to serve as the project lead and primary analyst for the implementation of university courses and curricula in CourseLeaf, an enterprise-level catalog and curriculum management software solution which aims to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of curriculum management at RIT. The Curriculum Systems Analyst will liaise with the vendor and collaborate with stakeholders across the university to analyze existing business processes, gather/review necessary materials, design/test workflows and forms in CourseLeaf, develop and deliver documentation and training sessions to faculty and staff, and review/approve all materials during the migration process. This role requires technical expertise in managing the implementation of a new system and also requires strong collaboration skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of academic program development processes and regulatory requirements.

After the new system is implemented, the Curriculum Systems Analyst will serve as the university content expert in CourseLeaf, oversee workflows for new/-modified academic programs and the annual review of academic programs published on RIT’s website and in the university catalog. This includes working with academic units and university partners to ensure that curricular updates are completed and correctly represented in published materials.
