Job Description Summary

Nazareth University invites applications and nominations for the role of Director of Didactic Education for the new Physician Assistant program in the College of Interprofessional Health & Human Services ( CIHHS ). The Director of Didactic Education will oversee the ongoing design, development, implementation and evaluation of an innovative hybrid program.

Essential functions

• Oversee the ongoing design, development, implementation and evaluation of an innovative hybrid curricular model.

• Works with the program director to recruit and support principal, instructional and adjunct faculty for the didactic phase of the program.

• Responsible for the development and oversight of a comprehensive assessment strategy, to include remediation, for the didactic phase of the program.

• Maintains accurate student records and enforcing academic policies consistent with the University, College and Program.

• Ensure students are adequately prepared to achieve programmatic benchmarks for the PACKRAT , End of Curriculum and PANCE exams.

• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Education on ongoing assessment of student performance toward attaining the program’s Student Learning Outcomes.

• Oversee student academic progression, retention and completion strategies.

• Ensure ongoing compliance with ARC -PA accreditation standards related to physician assistant didactic education.

• Actively engage with programmatic evaluation

• Develop and deliver hybrid academic courses as assigned.

• Participate in the student admissions process.

• Participate in the academic counseling of students as assigned.

• Serve on departmental, college and university committees as assigned.

• Participate in developing, reviewing and revising the mission statement, program goals and program competencies, as necessary.

• Conduct and disseminate scholarship.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education

Master’s Degree

Current NCCPA certification

Licensure in, or eligibility for licensure, in New York State

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

At least three years of prior academic experience in a PA Program as principal faculty

Effective communication and collaboration skills

Skilled in working with a variety of different student learning styles

Ability to perform duties autonomously with minimal supervision

At least three years of prior clinical experience as a PA

Strong computer skills

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and successfully meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of didactic PA education

Experience in the successful recruitment and development of faculty to be high-quality educators

Experience with ARC -PA standards
