University of Rochester Center for Perioperative Medicine (CPM) - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Primarily responsible for working with preoperative surgical patients for both hospital and ambulatory surgical centers through the Center for Perioperative Medicine (CPM). The major goals of CPM are to ensure the patient is optimally prepared for surgery, thereby enhancing patient outcomes and minimizing preventable OR cancellations and delays. In the CPM you will work collaboratively with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nursing staff as well as with our group of established APPs. Preferably able to work with adult and pediatric patients but will consider experienced adult APP with NYS NP/PA licensure, MS degree, 3-5 years medical/surgical experience preferred. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Physician Assistant

Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $44.71- 67.07

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
