SUMMARY

This individual will provide leadership for advanced practice providers (APP) within the Division of Hospital Medicine and Department of Medicine at Unity Hospital. They will provide evaluation and medical treatment for patients with multiple diagnoses in various settings.

LOCATION: Unity Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Hospital Medicine

SCHEDULE: Days/Rotating Weekends

ATTRIBUTES

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program and possess a New York State License to practice as an APP

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic illness and injuries
• Incorporate evidence based practice into patient care
• Develop, justify, and implement, in collaboration with the local clinical and operational leadership, the short and long-term staffing needs of the area, to include but not limited to scheduling, annual reviews and FTE allocation
• Oversight of orientation and on-boarding of newly hired APPs for the department
• Assures the on-going development of programs and provides support for all APP staff, novice to expert, to learn the skills required for their role and for their continued professional development
• Training of students and other APPs as requested
• Work with supervising physician/administrator to perform duties including, but not limited to: hiring, scheduling, staffing, performance management
• Evaluate changes in clinical practices and formulate recommendations regarding appropriateness and cost effectiveness in collaboration with the local leadership
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $95,000.00 - $150,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
