What we are looking for:

This East Coast-based position is responsible for managing the distribution of goods within cold, cooler, and dry storage facilities and ensuring maximum efficiency, quality, and customer service in the most cost-efficient manner. As directed by leadership, the incumbent will ensure that the day-to-day operations of facilities and shuttle are executed properly and that all goods are maintained and distributed according to Company and government guidelines. This 1st shift role will consist of up to 10% travel (1 week every other month or so, or 2-3 days per month).

Responsibilities:

  • Provides distribution and warehouse operations management, and analysis of business objectives. Executes operational short- and long-term strategy, make execution improvement recommendations, and implements new business processes and tools. This includes, but is not limited to, accurate stock rotation and proper cycle counting in accordance with company accounting practices and policies.

  • Manages inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of products, proper pick sequencing, accuracy of records, and timeliness of orders. Performs routine audits as needed.

  • Minimizes finished goods waste by ensuring proper product rotation and coordinating with other area leaders to develop a plan to sell at-risk inventory.

  • May plan and coordinate with transportation operations including the supervision of loading/unloading of trucks. Ensures that products meet our freshness, packaging, and food safety standards.

  • Enforces safety guidelines and rules, GMPS, HACCP checks, food safety and security requirements as well as all company policies and government regulations.

  • Ensures that all materials are stored in accordance with temperature requirements and food safety standards.

  • May be accountable for OPEX of the facility including, but not limited to, 3PL handling costs, supplies, inventory, travel, and uniforms.

  • Requests or oversees maintenance on facilities and equipment.

  • Enforces contract standards for all assigned vendors/third party logistics.

  • Supervises, trains, and develops subordinates (if applicable). Oversees the day-to-day management of third-party logistics provider employees (if applicable).

  • Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience, ideally with at least one year of supervision

  • Education: Associate degree (or equivalent)

  • General knowledge of Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Inventory Record Accuracy, Cycle Counting Procedures, Inventory Control Procedures, Food Safety Requirements, Warehousing and Distribution

  • Knowledgeable in the maintenance of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment

  • Knowledgeable in truck loading operations, yard operations, and reefer unit trailers

  • Strong supervisory skills

  • Intermediate PC skills with experience in SAP and word processing programs

  • Good math and communication (written and verbal) skills

  • Able and willing to travel to other facilities as needed.
