ACCA Mental Health Counselor in Queensbury, New York

Primary Purpose: Assist with coordination and work cooperatively with the Medical Director and Women's Residence Program Director and agency staff in the stabilization and rehabilitation of clients in the Women's residential program. Candidate must meet all regulatory program qualifications as defined by the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and other agencies.Licenses, Certificates, or Registrations: NYS Mental Health Counselor Certificate, Q.H.P. or provisional QHP with supervision required. A CPR/AED certification is a plus.Education Requirements: Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or other related field. A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field, or degree in substance abuse counseling with 3 year's work experience.Experience Requirements: Must have a minimum of three years counseling or related experience. Must have experience in the field of alcoholism and substance abuse.DutiesParticipates in screening of clients, and observation of physical, mental, and emotional status of admitted clients.Works cooperatively with the medical staff and Program Manager to meet the stabilization and rehabilitation treatment needs of each client.Provides individual and group counseling sessions to women residents, this includes motivation, support and encouragement for client goals.Attends and participates in all assigned meetings and committees.Monitors clients for medical, mental health, safety and security issues following program procedure and protocols.Assumes responsibility for managing and reporting incidents.Participates in Quality Assurance audits and assist in various special projects as assigned by the Medical Director or Women's Residence Program Manager.Participates in weekly Case Conferences and resident meetings including team meetings. Attends required staff meetings and trainingsCalls local ambulance service, fire department, police, or CDPC, as needed.Continues to seek and develop professional growth and activities.Maintains a professional relationship with peers and other providers.

Minimum Salary: 30.00 Maximum Salary: 35.00 Salary Unit: Yearly
