We are looking for:

A Strategic Buyer to support strategic growth plans of Syensqo’s Technology Solutions GBU, with a specific focus on Polymer Additives globally, through purchasing management of assigned product portfolios in collaboration with internal functional and business stakeholders.

We count on you for:

  • Understand and monitor market trends for assigned product portfolio including value chain and proactively communicate with management, and internal functional and business stakeholders

  • Collect, analyze and research internal demand for assigned portfolio

  • Develop and propose sourcing and category strategies based on market trends and internal business requirements.

  • Utilize e-auction opportunities when possible.

  • Prepare and conduct negotiations based on procurement strategy.

  • Analyze results and prepare recommendations for internal review with own management, functional and business stakeholders. Upon completion of the negotiation process, execute decisions including communication to stakeholders.

  • Formalize through contractual commitments.

  • Manage contract performance.

  • Prepare and finalize the contracts and service level agreements (SLA’s) with the subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Review the overall compliance of all contracts under their own responsibility.

  • Deploy the contract within its own perimeter and communicate the purchase contracts to all relevant stakeholders.

  • Follow up whether the supplier / subcontractor respects the agreements and performs up-to-standard.

  • Collect and analyze information about the execution of the contract, and ensure reporting to the internal customers and own management.

  • Resolve the disputes during the execution of the contract, and arbitrate in case of conflicts between internal customers.

  • Assess potential opportunities in terms of gains, productivity and innovation, identify the levers to realize cost reduction and calculate the realized benefits.

  • Suggest, implement and follow up projects to reduce purchasing cost and support the contractualization process.

  • Promote purchasing ethics, and ensure that the network respects the policies and ethical standards.

  • Explain the purchasing processes and methods to the internal customers.

  • Measure and report actions taken and economies realized.

  • Conduct supplier performance management through ad hoc complaint management and support annual supplier evaluation, involving internal stakeholders and as well as suppliers for input and feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Resolution of Raw Material and Packaging related site issues for assigned portfolio

  • Contribute to specific growth projects as assigned

  • Develop and maintain risk mitigation action plans for assigned portfolio

  • Ensure correct administration of the purchasing process and use of Syensqo’s procurement tools.

You will bring:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Chemistry or Economics; MBA is a plus

3-5 years of procurement experience

Experience within an ERP system, preferably SAP

Knowledge of the negotiation process and negotiation strategies, tactics and techniques and the ability to apply these in order to obtain agreement between two or more parties, bringing mutual commitment under contract, ensuring a sustainable and competitive advantage for the Group

You will get:

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $95 000 to $110 000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
