Position: Scientist

Description: The Adamson lab in the Molecular Biology Department and the Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics seeks applicants for a scientist to lead a genomics research project focused on studying DNA repair. The successful candidate for this position will design innovative experimental systems, conduct experiments, and analyze the generated data. The work will incorporate cutting-edge genomics technologies. The rank will be Associate Professional Specialist or Professional Specialist, commensurate with experience. Appointment is for one year, with the possibility for renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding. The Adamson lab is principally a genomics lab focused on studying mechanisms of genome stability maintenance. For our work, we use and develop cutting-edge experimental technologies, including genome editing tools and approaches for performing genetic screens and single-cell RNA-sequencing. A major topic of interest in the lab is genome editing. We seek to understand how modern genome editing tools interact with 'host' cell mechanisms. Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field and a strong track record of productivity are essential qualifications. Previous experience with CRISPR-Cas technologies or next-generation sequencing-based data analysis is a plus.
