DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and communicate project schedules, goals, dependencies, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and regularly report statuses to supervisor and senior leadership.

  • Propose and implement customer insight activities and discovery vehicles such as surveys, focus groups, and interviews to understand pain points, needs, and market trends. Develop intimate understanding of customers and problems/needs with clear viewpoint on potential solutions and messaging that will resonate with customers.

  • Conduct ongoing in-depth research and analysis on assigned products/market segment to understand how products and services fit into customer workflows and contribute to customer goals, as well as the drivers of purchase, retention, and customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with marketing on messaging, product positioning, go-to-market and market development strategies to meet sales targets.

  • Serve as the expert on features and functionality and their customer-facing value proposition. Work with marketing, sales, sales enablement, and customer support teams for effective product and feature launches. Present products and new features to sales teams and occasionally customers, clearly articulating value proposition, how to position products within larger MEMP suite, and features and functionality.

  • With support of market development vendor, develop list of faculty and medical librarian contacts by market segment and target product(s) and track their activity through market development funnel to generate warm leads for sales

  • Articulate a vision for features or improvements to solve user problems/pain points for assigned products. Develop customer-need driven strategy. With support, create and deliver effective business plan for high-investment enhancements.

  • Assess product strengths and weaknesses relative to the competition and analyze usage analytics for strategic decision-making.

  • Assist with the development of product roadmaps that support business strategy goals.

  • Gather requirements and write high-level specifications and user stories for products and product enhancements; review and approve written requirements developed by product owner.

  • May serve as product liaison with vendors to ensure content and product needs are met.

  • Work with Customers, Editorial, Business Development, Technology, Content Development, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Sales Enablement teams to guide product development efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of digital product experience or 1 year digital product experience + relevant market development/marketing experience. Medical sector and publishing company experience highly preferred.

  • Proven experience in market development, go-to-market, and supporting lead generation.

  • Proven experience in product strategy, product management, or related digital product role for B2B/B2C web-based information or software products.

  • Analytical and able to create sound business arguments backed up by data.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience and expertise in requirements-gathering/analysis and in writing high-level specifications, including teasing out edge cases and identifying gaps and/or missed requirements.

  • Understanding of general project management practices and tasks; this is not a project management role; however, all members of the team manage projects to some extent and this role will likewise contribute to the overall effort on initiatives.

  • Experience with Medical Education and Medical Practice markets highly preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 to 10 percent based on the needs of the business

Compensation:

Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $89,450-$123,800
