The Role: DevOps/Release Engineer Sr.

The Team:

The team works in the SAFe agile environment and adheres to all principles of Agile. As DevOps/Release Engineer Sr., you will work with a team of intelligent, ambitious and results-oriented software professionals. The team is independent in driving all decisions and is responsible for the design and quick turnaround of development of our products with the highest quality.

Responsibilities and Impact:

The DevOps/Release Engineer Sr. will make significant contributions building solutions to manage and deploy code across financial and non-financial platforms. Your challenge will be to reduce “time to market” for products without compromising quality, thereby leveraging automation/DevOps as well as innovation. You will use a wide range of technologies and have the opportunity to interact with collaborative internal teams.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $126,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • • Over 5 years of hands-on experience in software development and technical implementations, encompassing a deep understanding of programming fundamentals and software development principles.

  • • Expertise in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Perl, Bash, and similar, specializing in automating and orchestrating technical tasks like installation and administration.

  • • Designed, documented, and implemented complex Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Git, Jenkins, and other automation platforms.

  • • Demonstrated proficiency with CI/CD tools and frameworks, with a minimum of 3 years of practical experience, including Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and Azure DevOps.

  • • Skilled in Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO), proficient in creating repositories, managing branches, configuring pipelines, tasks, and scripting for automated migrations through ADO.

  • • Hands-on expertise in source control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub) and continuous integration systems (e.g., Jenkins).

  • • Implemented and maintained DevOps best practices, emphasizing version control, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automated testing.

  • • Strong problem-solving abilities with a track record of troubleshooting complex issues.

  • • Previous leadership experience including mentoring teams, guiding projects, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams such as development, operations, and QA.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with various OS including Windows and Linux.

  • Experience with a variety of database technologies - SQL, Oracle, or MySQL

  • Experience with IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and cloud technologies

  • Experience using an agile development methodology

  • Excellent scripting experience with two or more of the following: Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

  • Ability to break down and understand complex business problems, define a solution and implement solutions in software
