Summary:
Women's Health Surgical Advanced Practice Provider will work primarily in the hospital providing clinical coverage for Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and the Emergency Department. This position will support the OBGYN physicians and midwives on these units as well as provide surgical first assist coverage for OB and GYN surgeries. Position may be filled with Certified Nurse Midwife, or Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with women's health specialty training. ,
Responsibilities:
-Postpartum rounding on mothers and babies on the Mother/Baby unit;-Newborn circumcisions prior to discharge;-Surgical first assist for obstetric and gynecologic surgeries;-First call for emergency department women's health consults ;-First call for obstetric triage patients on the Labor and Delivery unit;-Clinical support for physician procedures (cerclage, external cephalic versions, postpartum tubal ligations, etc);-Labor evaluation cervical exams or patient assessments;-Placement of IUD and Nexplanon for contraception prior to discharge ;-Other clinical assignments within scope of practice as needed,
Education: MASTER'S LVL DGRE

Preferred Skills: History & physical; orders; chaperoned pelvic exams â€" including sterile speculum exams, POC microscopy for confirmation of rupture of membranes, vaginitis; fetal monitor interpretation; order and perform non-stress tests, biophysical profile and amniotic fluid index, bedside US for fetal number, presentation, placental localization, guidance for post-placental IUD placement; phlebotomy and IV placement when needed; placement of Cook balloon, placement of misoprostol; vaginal prep for CS, delivery, D&C; abdominal prep for surgery; urinary catheter (foley) placement; first assist for C-section; first assist for D&C/D&E, first assist for postpartum tubal ligation, first assist for Jada and Bakri balloon placement; first assist for cerclage placement; IUD and Nexplanon placement; telephone triage.,
Salary Range: $128,000-$160,000 commensurate with years of experience
