Graduate from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited surgical technology program credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or LPN degree instead of the surgical tech certificationRequired: One year of perioperative services experienceRequired: Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)Licensure/Certification Requirements:BLSCertified Surgical Technology certification; orCompleted a military surgical technology program; orProvides evidence of employment as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to 1/1/15; orIs in the service of the federal government, to the extent the person is performing duties related to that serviceRESPONSIBILITIESFair share of operating room on callPromote the mission, vision and values of CPHFunction as a scrub person during operative and invasive procedures byAssembling supplies and equipment required for the procedurePreparing and organizing sterile supplies and instruments for the procedurePerforming ACCOUNTING procedures in concert with the RN circulatorAssisting with placement of sterile drapesProviding instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedureMaintaining an organized sterile fieldEnsuring sterility of the field and taking corrective actions as neededPreparing sterile dressingsClean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport them to the decontamination areaAssist with post procedure cleaning of the operative or invasive procedure room and preparation of room for subsequent patientsParticipate in ongoing educational and competency verification activities applicable to scrub person activitiesMaintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.PAY RANGE: $22.75 - $32.53 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
