Job Description

 A conductor will be part of a two-man train crew and will assemble and disassemble trains, make strategic moves with rail cars and interact with customers based on their needs. Responsibilities and Duties: Work with an Engineer to perform assigned daily tasks. Report to various locations on Railroad for work each day. Communicate with Customer Service department to understand customer needs. Throwing switches. Follow appropriate FRA and RBMN safety guidelines. Other duties as assigned and required. Qualifications Ability to work around loud machines and equipment. Ability to work alone or in mixed groups. Ability to work in all kinds of weather conditions. Flexibility to work varying shifts and report out of any location across our system. Must be able to lift up to 70lbs. Ability to bend, stand, climb, kneel or sit for long periods. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be at least 18 years of age. Finger dexterity, operation of motor vehicle, operation of equipment, manage multiple tasks/projects, close attention to detail and adapt to ever changing work environment. Valid driver's license. Operational vehicle to commute to/from work. Positive attitude. Exposure to chemicals, noise, dust and heights. Ability to successfully pass Federal Railroad Administration-mandated, pre-employment and random drug screens, physical examination, vision, hearing, and breath alcohol tests, as well as a background check.
