New York State Job Bank Inventory Control Manager North American in Plattsburgh, New York

Were looking for an experienced Inventory Manager to join our team at Schluter Systems. Your role will be to closely manage our inventory levels, ensuring our outgoing and incoming merchandise is balanced out at all times. Support our Schluter warehouses and guide your team to ensure excellence in inventory practices. Being proactive to foresee problems days and weeks in advance and knowing the relevant teams to inform to avoid any break in productivity or distribution. Not only this, but youll be able to create easy-to-understand reports and metrics that you can share with stakeholders around the business, to help others have a holistic view of your department. You will directly report to the Director of Warehousing and Distribution for North America. Responsibilities:

Assists in Hiring and Training Inventory staff members at all NA locations

Oversee the job assignments, activities, perform reviews and approves payroll of the Inventory Control Teams

Collaborate with warehouse managers, GMs and other directors to provide feedback on transactional accuracy and individual performance

Executes daily, weekly and monthly inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems

Lead the Inventory Control Meeting where all participants for other departments are present and actions are assigned and tracked to completion

Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.

Locates items that may have incorrect location or stock numbers to assist order processors

Communicates with all department (production, purchasing, warehouse, finance and more) as needed regarding new items, changes of location, counts, discrepancies etc.

Ensures milestones and goals are met as per the established metrics (inventory accuracy)

Drives adherence to annual cycle count completion

Ensures adherence to approved budget.

Performs additional related duties as assigned

Help to provide reports to other departments regarding inventory levels

Assist departments with discontinued items, back to rack, rework challenges, open transactions

Detect and streamline any inventory bottlenecks

Stay up to date with any changes or trends in the logistics industry

Teaches and guides the North American team

Fully understand and navigate the WMS systems utilized within the network

Aligning with CI groups to ensure the best inventory practices are leveraged within all departments Proven experience in Inventory Management or a similar role

Qualification in Supply Chain Management or a related industry

Experience leading or guiding a team

Experience using an Inventory Management software

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to provide easy-to-understand reports

High-level of foresight and problem-solving skills

Strong analytical skills

Proficient in Microsoft Suite

Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures

Continuous Improvement Experience

Education and Experience:

5 years of leadership experience in team environment

10 years of inventory management experience

Inventory certification or accreditation is preferred

Preferred University Graduate in the field of Supply Chain Management

Forklift certification preferred

Experience with WMS systems and understanding of how they work

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Travel will be required.
