Life Enrichment Wellness Activities Assistant

The Life Enrichment Wellness Assistant will assist with planning, implementing, facilitating, and promoting activities to enrich the quality of life for our residents. The primary focus will be providing programs and events encouraging engagement and socialization throughout our Laurelwood Assisted & Memory Care community. Two days a week, the focus will include leading a variety of group exercise classes. Familiarity with Alzheimer’s/Dementia is a plus!

A love and willingness to work with the elderly population is essential for this role.

Other responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

· Assisting in the creation of activities designed to meet the individualized needs of our residents.

· Create and develop programs that meet the individualized needs of the resident population.

· Brainstorm event and activity ideas with other team members

· Set up and break down needed materials before and after programs

· Assist in resident outings

· Track resident attendance and participation

· Look for ways to enhance programs. Creativity needed

· Provides information to the Director of Life Enrichment regarding the resident engagement to assist with the development of a personalized care plan.

Job Requirements:

High School diploma / GED required

Prior experience and knowledge in leading group exercise classes is strongly preferred

Ability to inspire, motivate, and encourage the engagement of residents in meaningful, purposeful activities throughout the day and evening.

Ability to handle multiple priorities

Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication

Prior experience preferred planning/coordinating activities for memory care residents.
