UPMC Training Specialist, Claims Operations-Hybrid in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Purpose:

The Training Specialist is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, and delivering training for the Claims Operations Department within the UPMC Health Plan.

This position will work a hybrid work structure, reporting to the office as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers training related to MC400/Profound navigation, claims processing and phone systems. Assists with train the trainer initiatives, as necessary.

  • Responsible for booking training rooms and securing materials needed for training courses.

  • Assists with the development and maintenance of electronic education materials.

  • Produces quick tips, memos and other training documentation as required to provide up-to-date information related to system enhancements and modifications.

  • Prepares training materials for upcoming sessions, as well as educational documents related to workflows and enhancements.

  • Responsible for keeping training records for audits, including sign-in rosters and employee participation documentation.

  • Coordinates all aspects of the training process, including industry research materials development, program delivery, student testing, and assessment.

  • Communicates effectively and works collaboratively with trainees’ leadership to ensure successful training completion.

  • Determines the effectiveness of learning and the transfer of learned skills to the workplace by using a variety of measurement tools that include evaluations, assessments, and surveys (when appropriate).

  • Maintains a positive classroom environment for staff members, to support the experience, skills, knowledge attainment and capabilities of employees.

  • Maintains work activity reports, employee training profiles, and submits reports as required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or other related fields preferred

  • 2 years of direct experience in Managed Care and/or Indemnity environment with at least 1 year of experience in delivery of staff training programs or related experience.

  • Experience in methods and techniques of adult education with demonstrated success.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

  • Strong leadership skills and independent decision-making abilities.

  • Expert process and project management skills are required.
