Student Program Coordinator

 

The Big Idea Center, within the Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, is seeking a qualified Student Program Coordinator. This role will serve as core program support staff, assisting the Assistant Director and team, in the organization and implementation of programs for students around innovation and entrepreneurship, including but not limited to Big Idea Kickoff, Fall & Spring Blitz, Kuzneski Innovation Cup, Big Idea Competition, ChangeMaker Series and Scholars Program, Blast Furnace Accelerator, and Forge Incubator. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

    • Reservation of event space dependent on department and university policies and procedures.
    • Virtual program assistance and management (Zoom invites, day-of tracking/security, etc.
    • Team and student communications.
    • Competition scheduling and logistics coordination.
    • Assisting AD with program execution.

The Student Program Coordinator may assist the Assistant Director OIE marketing and outreach team in program support through marketing and promotion on an as-needed basis by:

    • Execution of on-campus/virtual tabling sessions.
    • Connecting with student clubs/organizations.
    • Assisting with development of program-related content to support social media, flyers, and website and other marketing, outreach and engagement collateral.

This role will also be tasked with conducting data entry and analysis for programming, collaborating and supporting front desk staffing and responsibilities, supporting the effective use of the Big Idea Center's CRM (Salesforce) and other data and analysis tools, and utilizing a creative skillset to further the goals of the Big Idea Center.

A bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience in and around innovation spaces at the University-level is a plus.

Job Summary

Provides daily support in the execution of an assigned program, section, or special interest group and implements procedures, processes, services, and systems to support program workflow. Evaluates and monitors projects, coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, and advises staff on program policies. Creates program communications, coordinates data and manages program databases, and assists in developing program evaluations.

Essential Functions

Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills. Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, and execute time management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills. Experience utilizing computer programs (ex. Microsoft Excel) for database management and analysis is preferred. Familiarity in CRM systems (Salesforce, etc.) is a plus.

Physical Effort

This role is in an active environment that may require long periods of standing, walking, commuting across campus and elsewhere, moving of furniture and equipment in the Center to accommodate various programming, handling boxes (supplies, food and beverage), etc.
