Federated Hermes STATE TREASURY POOL BUSINESS MANAGER #9121 in PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree required; MBA, CFA, or CIMA preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of client facing experience in the financial services industry (i.e. investment companies, consulting firms, etc.) required; Experience working with public sector investments; working with public officials and their staffs preferred
  • An intrinsic understanding of investment concepts required
  • Knowledge of public sector protocol required; Knowledge of legislative processes, state elections and appointments, Pension regulations, State Treasury functions preferred
  • Knowledge of Federated products and separate account strategies preferred
  • Must possess/immediately obtain FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses

     

MAJOR DUTIES:

Work closely with the National Sales Manager of State Treasury Pools to provide a high level service to current clients and perform a variety of duties that help to advance the sales cycle for State Treasury related business.   Handling day-to-day activities with a high level of business acumen, this position will support ongoing strategic sales efforts and optimize the utilization of internal resources. 

 

  • Manage day-to-day business activity, interfacing with State Treasury clients to keep investment and service deliverables on track.  Manage multi-faceted projects across Federated on behalf of the business channel.
  • Assume relationship management duties for assigned State Treasury relationships.
  • Direct the development of board materials, including presentations and preparatory write-ups; ensure fresh insightful content, appropriate performance depiction and accuracy.  Attend and deliver presentations as requested.
  • Determine appropriate State Treasury conference presence and work with team members to assign personnel at key venues.  Attend as necessary.
  • Assist in the management of  legislative surveillance and state level statutory and policy change initiatives with legal resources and the client sponsors and prospects.
  • Work closely with National Sales Manager of State Treasury Pools to direct assignments that keep the sales queue moving, such as high level correspondence, follow-up analysis from meetings, special client projects, etc.  Manage among internal resources and compose documents as necessary.
  • Serve as primary day-to-day contact for client and participant service team members on a myriad of business matters.
  • Collaborate with appropriate personnel internally  on business development efforts, including oversight of RFPs, presentations and other related items.
  • Manage scheduling of key client meetings and appointments and provide thorough preparatory support.
  • Contribute to the formation of the business / marketing plans and oversee the continuous implementation, keeping all support well-coordinated, and on time.  Vet and answer ongoing business issue questions for the channel:  database and composite decisions, strategies to propose and the correct portrayal of them. 

     

HOURS/LOCATION:  

  • 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (overtime as required)
  • Location: Pittsburgh, PA preferred; Boston, MA or Chicago, IL
  • Ability to work core business hours
  • Extended hours as required; some travel required
