UPMC Sr. Practice Manager in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is hiring a Senior Practice Manager to oversee our Dental Office at the main hospital in Lawrenceville. This role involves managing all dental practice operations, including registration, billing, and overseeing the department’s growth with EPIC integration. The manager will ensure high-quality patient care and will need to travel to the Hampton office once a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high-quality staffing through strategic placement of coordinators and managers.

  • Oversee practice budgets and financial performance.

  • Foster a patient-centric culture focused on arrival and follow-up activities.

  • Act as a liaison with UPMC departments, construction services, and external resources.

  • Develop strategic plans for practice growth and improvement.

  • Identify areas for operational improvement, service expansion, and new market opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance with UPMC policies and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and peers.

  • Assist in practice valuations, contract negotiations, and staffing.

  • Support physician relations as needed.

  • Stay updated on practice operations and industry initiatives.

  • Oversee recruitment for staff and new practices.

  • Collaborate with Office/Practice Managers and Physicians to improve procedures and office efficiency.

  • Monitor practice benchmarks, including point-of-service and scheduling for timely patient access.

  • Bachelors Degree + 3 years of management experience w/ 1 year healthcare experience OR

  • Associate's Degree + 3 years healthcare experience and 3 years of management experience OR

  • High School Diploma + 5 years healthcare experience and 5 years of management experience

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 31 Clearance with renewal

  • Act 33 Clearance with renewal

  • Act 34 Clearance with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
