What you will do…

  • As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll drive execution and play a vital role in building a culture of innovation at Fortive. You will build, manage, and inspire alongside a multi-functional team that solves for our toughest growth obstacles.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end review that include: data gathering, review, scaled deliverables, recommendations and presentations to stakeholders.

  • Contribute to a wide variety of technical projects using natural language processing, statistical analysis, machine-learning, and other forms of analytical modeling.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Effectively manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

  • Communicate the capabilities of data science initiatives clearly and convincingly.

  • Identify and seize opportunities for project advancement and innovation.

  • Project Management:

  • Utilize project management expertise to facilitate seamless collaboration among data scientists, MLops engineers, and software engineers.

  • Coordinate project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure efficient progress and successful outcomes.

  • Translate data science model impacts, insights, and methodologies into accessible language for non-technical team members.

This opportunity could be for you if…

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in computer-science/information-theory/language-technologies or a related field is required, and a Master or PhD is preferred

  • Lead end-to-end data science projects, from problem definition and data collection to model development and deployment.

  • Design and develop machine learning models and algorithms to analyze large, complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.

  • Explore and implement advanced statistical techniques to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations in data.

  • Develop predictive models and forecasting algorithms to support decision-making and drive business growth.

  • Evaluate model performance and make recommendations for model improvements and optimizations.

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and AI technologies, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and support as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of success in applying data science techniques to real-world business problems.

  • Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, and familiarity with data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g., pandas, matplotlib, seaborn).

  • Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, deep learning techniques, and statistical modeling.

  • Experience with big data technologies and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex problems.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of data scientists.

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, project coordination, and communication within a data science or related technical environment.

  • Proficiency in conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
