UPMC Security Liaison Officer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The Security Liaison Officer provides coverage to the front desk, greeting and directing visitors and staff as directed by the Senior Staff Associate, Office of the President & CEO. Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees with matrix reporting to the VP of Security Services.
Responsibilities:
Ensure visitors are greeted in a courteous and professional manner. Social amenities are offered at all times with politeness and cordial communication.
Provide security services at demonstrations and special events.
Protect the integrity and confidentiality of all data and information through physical and/or electronic means.
Lead on monitoring personal safety alarms 24/7.
Prepare and submit accurate, legible incident reports in accordance with UPMC policy.
JNET administrator - disseminate JNET findings of all nature, to other UPMC law enforcement. Contact person for all who have no JNET capabilities.
Courteously meet and greet guests in a professional helpful manner and direct guests to appropriate individual/area as well as notify appropriate staff.
Provide physical security to individuals identified and directed by the Vice President, Security Services.
Track national statistics on Hospital violence worldwide.
Provide professional security and escort for management, visitors, and employees.
Conduct criminal history checks using Lexis Nexis Checks.
Liaison with all entities of the law enforcement community and Media Relations to ensure cooperation and a good working relationship.
Prepare all necessary information and testify in court proceedings on behalf of UPMC.
Work with surrounding counties regarding PFA information.
Assist in standardization efforts including research, recommendations, and implementation.
High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years experience in corporate security, law enforcement or military experience, or comparable combination of education and experience required.
Personal computer experience required utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent customer service skills required to handle all levels of personnel, patients and visitors.
Medical experience preferred (i.e. EMT, paramedic or first responder).
Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment.
Ability to handle confidential materials and sensitive issues in a professional manner.
Good organizational, planning and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Extreme flexibility and punctuality are required.Guards/Officers are required to wear a bullet proof vest
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Valid PA Driver's License CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
Valid Act 235 (Lethal Weapons Training Act) required within 180 days of hire.
Must be able to meet 501 Certification requirements (Certification of Private Police Officer for UPMC).
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
