Experience working with oppressed populations including people who use drugs is preferred. Excellent writing, communication, and organization skills are required. Must be able to coordinate study functions, navigate university policies, and coordinate travel and presentations for study team. Excellent data management, analysis, and qualitative research skills.

Job Summary

 

Executes protocol-related research procedures, activities, outreach, and education. Manages a complex program or study or multiple programs and studies. Collects and analyzes data and complies with all policies and regulations. Recommends improvements to policy and procedure.

Essential Functions

Coordination of project and research activities related to harm reduction research and center development.

The Research Program Coordinator will assist the Principal Investigators in the development of an academic center for harm reduction research and on program management, implementation and execution of several related grants and projects in DGIM. Responsibilities of the Research Program Coordinator include assisting with development participant assessment tools; data collection, participant and site payments, including programming tablets and preparing data transfer; data management and preliminary analyses; assisting with project logistics related to workflow; preparation of grant reports; and coordinating study team meetings and coordinating with consultants, community partners, and study inventory procurement and management. Additionally, the Research Program Coordinator will conduct qualitative or key informant interviews with study participants and collaborators and will participate in the qualitative data analysis. This individual will also assist with manuscript preparation and presentations at scientific conferences. They will implement human subjects and IRB protections in the field and will work to ensure that staff job duties and performance comply with University of Pittsburgh personnel policies. Knowledge of Dedoose cross-platform application for mixed methods analysis, Redcap, Nvivo, SPSS, and Excel is preferred.
