Caregiver Position -- Supervision, Meal Prep, & Locomotion Assistance Multiple First & Second Shifts Available (North of Ross Park Mall) (Must Have Reliable Transportation)

Position Overview

  • Location: Home is not on the bus line, so you must have your own vehicle or a consistent way to commute.
  • Shifts Available: Multiple first and second shifts---details will be provided during the interview process.
  • Duties: Support client in day-to-day living tasks, primarily focused on meal preparationlocomotion assistance, and constant supervision to ensure safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision & Safety
  • Monitor the client throughout the shift, ensuring they are never left alone when they require assistance.
  • Identify and address any immediate needs or potential hazards to maintain a secure environment.
  • Meal Preparation
  • Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals or snacks, respecting any dietary requirements.
  • Encourage the client's involvement in light kitchen tasks, when appropriate, to foster engagement.
  • Locomotion Assistance
  • Provide gentle support with standing, walking, or transferring from bed to chair.
  • Use proper techniques or mobility aids to ensure safe, comfortable movement for the client.
  • Daily Living Activities
  • Perform light housekeeping, laundry, or other routine tasks to keep the home tidy.
  • Maintain open and respectful communication, documenting daily observations or changes in the client's condition.
  • Companionship & Emotional Support
  • Engage the client in friendly conversation and simple activities that promote well-being.
  • Offer empathy and reassurance, understanding the importance of social interaction in a caregiving context.

Ideal Candidate

  • Reliable & Punctual: Understands the importance of arriving on time so the client never goes without care.
  • Compassionate & Respectful: Treats clients with dignity, actively listening and responding to their needs.
  • Physically Capable: Able to assist with locomotion and light housekeeping tasks without difficulty.
  • Effective Communicator: Documents care activities accurately and promptly shares concerns or updates with supervisors.
  • Team Player: Embraces a zero-tolerance policy for disrespect, contributing to a safe and harmonious work environment.
  • Own Vehicle or Guaranteed Ride: Since this position is not on the bus line, dependable transportation is critical.
