General Summary: Identifies and assesses sponsored programs opportunities; Participates in drafting, revising, and reviewing grant proposals; Manages and participates in proposal development and effective administration of funded projects; Provides comprehensive oversight for all pre- and post-award management of sponsored programs and sponsored research activities.

 

Requirements: Master's degree in a related field and four years of experience developing and administering sponsored programs (hereinafter inclusive of grants, contracts and cooperative agreement) or bachelor's degree in a related field with 6 years of experience is required. Previous experience in both writing and assessing the quality of sponsored programs. Strong facilitation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required. Ability to garner cooperation and compliance. Must have proven supervisory, leadership, budgeting, writing, and planning skills. Diplomacy and experience with project management required, preferably in a higher education setting. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule as permitted by the College.

 

Duties:

 

  1. Leads, trains, and manages staff in the Office of Sponsored Programs

     

  2. Supervises grants and other sponsored programs activities and maintains departmental budget.

     

  3. Identifies public funding opportunities, and works closely with the CCAC Educational Foundation to determine private funding opportunities available to the College; informs appropriate CCAC stakeholders of opportunities for potential sponsored programs.

     

  4. Researches, prepares, and writes proposals for sponsored programs.

     

  5. Participates in the negotiation/navigation of complex contractual and compliance issues that arise from sponsored programs and sponsored program proposals and agreements.

     

  6. Coordinates institutional adherence to the Federal Office of Management & Budget (OMB) Uniform Guidance Regulations and related matters to ensure reporting and regulatory compliance for programs and projects; interprets prospective funding agencies guidelines regarding appropriate sponsored programs administration.

     

  7. Monitors the development and implementation of grant applications and proposals as well as the operation of all sponsored programs funded projects.

     

  8. Develops and implements recommendations for improvements to processes and operations.

     

  9. Identifies sponsored programs-related fiscal and legislative issues.

     

  10. Coordinates the mplementation of administrative procedures for newly funded initiatives.

     

  11. Coordinates system-wide training for college staff and faculty on sponsored programs development and management.

     

  12. Serves as CCAC's principal point of contact for matters related to publicly-funded grants.

     

  13. Performs other duties as required or as assigned.

     

Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
