TranSystems Corporation Electrical Engineer I in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Duties: Design, system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of control systems related to heavy movable structures. Work with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface  (HMI) equipment in applications related to heavy movable structures. Work with electrical codes and standards in applications related to heavy movable structures. Inspect electrical systems in movable bridges (bascule, swing, rolling, and vertical lift). Perform design calculations, address RFIs and prepare electrical reports. Review and prepare electrical plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bently MicroStation for testing and commissioning. No Hire/fire authority.

 

Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Requires experience with design, system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of control systems related to heavy movable structures. Requires experience working with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) equipment in applications related to heavy movable structures. Requires experience working with electrical codes and standards including National Electric Code (NEC), Underwriters Laboratories (UL508A), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and National Electrical Manufacturers Associations (NEMA) in applications related to heavy movable structures. Requires experience with Mathcad or similar software. 25% national travel required. Telecommuting permissible 50% of the time within reasonable commuting distance from the Pittsburgh, PA TranSystems Office.
