Job Description

Since opening the doors in 1916, the Omni William Penn Hotel has played a starring role in the city of Pittsburgh, hosting movie stars, politicians, heads of state and leaders of business and industry. A multi-million-dollar renovation has only enhanced the beauty of this luxury hotel to ensure that generations to come will enjoy the outstanding service, guest room accommodations and award-winning cuisine that have defined Omni William Penn for decades. Responsibilities

Responsible for the management of all Engineering functions (including Operating Engineers, Maintenance Mechanic, Carpenters & Painters) and personnel, providing for consistent, cost effective maintenance programs that ensure the Hotels' safe and efficient operation.

• Coordinate with several other departments and vendors all work necessary to maintain general conditions, safety and health standards set forth by hotel and legal requirements.

• Recommend to management possible projects for future capital budgets.

• Obtain bids, supervise and coordinate contractors in performance of project work.

• Strong knowledge of all mechanical aspects of engineering is required. Maintain, own, and renew hotel's special permits and licenses as required by local authorities.

• This position is part of the Hotel Executive Committee which requires a high level of integrity, professionalism and leadership of the Hotel.

• Operate within specified R&M and H, L, & P budgets.

• Active participation in planning major capital expenditures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively with all departments in the Hotel.

• Active role in the guest satisfaction and service recovery process, to include problem resolution.

• This position is responsible for managing energy costs in a very large operation.

• Manage a department of approximately 20 associates, develop and maintain a satisfactory work environment for your team.

• Annual Associate Engagement Survey must indicate that your associates are satisfied with the atmosphere in your department.

• Must have 3-5 years’ experience as a Director of Engineering in a full service hotel, along with proven labor relations experience.
