UPMC Diagnostic Technologist Adv in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

We are offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for a 2-year work commitment with 0-1 years experience.

We are offering a $15,000 sign-on bonus for a 2-year work commitment with 1+ years experience.

UPMC’s brand new Monthly Loan Repayment program, exclusively for December 2023 and later graduates, offering $9000 in loan repayment paid over three years for eligible regular Full-Time roles. (Eligible Flex Full-Time roles to receive prorated amount of $6300.)

Mercy Outpatient facility in search of an enthusiastic person to work in a fast-paced work environment to work as a diagnostic tech adv/ x-ray tech/ rad tech.

Job responsibilities include drawing blood, preparing lab specimens, performing EKGs, and imaging patients.

Imaging duties includes c-arm operation, working in orthopedic offices, and general x-rays.

Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6am- 6pm and Saturdays 6am-130pm. 8 or 10 hours work shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.

  • Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.

  • Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.

  • Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.

  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.

  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.

  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.

  • Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.

Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology. 2 years Diagnostic experience required. Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

ARRT certified in Radiography. CPR or BLS Required CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • ARRT Certificate

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
