GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Provides support of coordination of students and area functions as well as may serve as a physician liaison.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to independently perform radiographic imaging. Prepares for and assists the physician in radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. (25%)

  • Oversees, coordinates, and evaluates the clinical activities of the Radiologic Technology students ensuring the minimum graduate competencies are fulfilled. Acts as a liaison between the hospital and the didactic Radiologic Technology Program institutions with which we have Agreements. (20%)

  • Implements radiation protection and safety standards. (20%)

  • Completes all required documentation for procedures, e.g. regulatory, billing protocol and image distribution. (15%)

  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. (10%)

  • Maintain adequate supplies for efficient section/department operations. (10%)

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Q UALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; OR six months to one-year related experience and/or training; OR equivalent education and experience.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification

  • 2 years as a Radiologic Technologist

  • CPR certification.

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Leadership and/or teaching experience
