Clinical Research Coordinator

 

This position is to serve as a Clinical Research Associate for the Potiaumpai Lab. This person will be responsible for overseeing elements of different projects that may include: development of study recruitment materials and procedures, regulatory compliance, participant recruitment and retention, data quality and management, budget management, progress reporting and dissemination. Day-to-day research responsibilities include scheduling of participants for appointments, overseeing collection, entry and quality of data, communicating with study participants as needed, purchasing research supplies, and working in partnership with the members of the study team to maintain scientific quality across all studies

 

Responsibilities include:

Assists development and implementation of SOPs related to clinical research and data management.

Collaborate with the research team to develop research protocols, obtain necessary approvals, and ensure adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.

Maintain compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and IRB guidelines.

Use the electronic medical record to identify potential patients.

Partner with clinical oncology collaborators to identify and recruit study subjects.

Conduct comprehensive assessments of people living with and beyond cancer, including medical history, fitness levels, and treatment plans.

Assist in data collection, entry, management, and analysis for research projects, ensuring accurate and reliable data.

Design exercise programs based on the existing scientific evidence and study protocol and specific needs and goals of each patient.

Monitor patients during exercise sessions, ensuring safety and proper technique.

Completion of the ACSM-ACS Cancer Exercise Specialist Course through the American College of Sports Medicine preferred but not required; eligibility to obtain certification with willingness to obtain certification with a specified period after employment.

Job Summary

Conducts research assessments on study participants. Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Assists with training staff. Ensures adherence to protocols and corrects issues with data collection.

Essential Functions

Data collection, data management, EMR screening, participant interaction (including approach, consent, onboarding, maintenance/retention), reporting, meeting organization, and regulatory work.

Physical Effort

Moderate physical effort required. May be required to stand/move for several hours at a time. May be required to move objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance of equipment.
