Clinical Research Coordinator - Dicianno Lab

The department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to assist with research studies on innovation in disability empowerment and telehealth. Duties include recruiting and consenting research subjects, conducting medical chart reviews, collecting data independently, and providing technical support to participants enrolled in research studies. The Clinical Research Coordinator will be expected to participate in IRB related activities such as data safety and monitoring meetings and compile weekly or monthly tracking reports. Will also be responsible for entering data into databases, checking for errors, and conducting some basic data analysis. Must be willing to assist with other project support tasks including but not limited to scheduling meetings and calls, assisting with arrangement of travel for investigators, tracking expenses, ordering supplies, conducting literature searches, and assisting with preparation of manuscripts.

Must have some familiarity with medical terminology or the ability to learn terminology quickly and will need to be able to provide necessary documentation and complete training modules to obtain clearance to use the electronic medical records and to work with research data. The Clinical Research Coordinator is required to maintain confidentiality of all patients and patient data. The candidate must be able to travel to multiple local sites for meetings, administration of informed consent, and data collection.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate with collaborators and co-workers as well as patients are essential. The candidate should have some experience working with individuals with disabilities. Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with basic computing and data entry software including formatting spreadsheets and creating tables and figures in Excel and Word, formatting documents in Word, creating slide presentations in Powerpoint, and conducting basic data analysis using formulas in Excel. Familiarity with reference manager software such as Endnote preferred.

Job Summary

Conducts research assessments on study participants. Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Assists with training staff. Ensures adherence to protocols and corrects issues with data collection.

Essential Functions

Ability to do extensive typing, ability to sit or stand for lengthy periods, and good vision for computer tasks.

Physical Effort

Both sedentary and standing positions are necessary.
