DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Budget Analyst 2, you will perform budgetary and financial functions related to the preparation of the annual budget, rebudgets, and reports. This involves meeting with program offices to provide information, statistics, regular fiscal interpretation, and accomplishments. Responsibilities include preparing projections of assigned grants on an annual basis and analyzing monthly agency budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls. You will generate a variety yearly, monthly, and ad hoc reports such as the current status of funding versus contractual obligations and the projected year end surplus or deficit situation within each funding stream. Communication is essential for ensuring the decision makers and bureaus who rely on your financial reports can effectively support and guide our service providers and partners.

This position also reviews and approves contract modifications/adjustment requests submitted by the program office, verifying that information is accurate and reviewing all system conversions and adjustments to each service provider's contract. You will have the opportunity to assist in the preparations of the county grant budget for the annual budget submission and complete work that is essential for ensuring accuracy and the smooth processing for payment. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Scheduled hours can vary depending on the needs of the regional office. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Budget Analyst I; or Two years of experience in technical budget administration work, and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
