Robert Half Site Reliability Engineer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Description

We are offering an employment opportunity for a Site Reliability Engineer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The role primarily involves building and supporting our Site Reliability Engineering team, with tasks focused on digital transformation, cloud solution automation, and monitoring systems.

  • Lead infrastructure and automation efforts in conjunction with key Digital Transformation initiatives.

  • Define infrastructure and system requirements using industry best practices to support SRE goals.

  • Develop and implement automation using configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible) to seamlessly scale projects.

  • Design and execute monitoring solutions for projects through automation.

  • Collaborate closely with product teams on items related to SRE and Digital Transformation.

  • Own the reporting and accountability of all performance metrics for eCommerce initiatives.

  • Build and enhance scalable application infrastructure for world-class eCommerce capabilities.

  • Define and deliver global application roadmaps and evolving technology platforms.

  • Manage the development and deployment of release management features across online systems.

  • Maintain and optimize log centralization for numerous applications using tools like Splunk.

    Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

  • Programming Experience: At least 3+ years of coding experience (Python or Ruby preferred).

  • Cloud Technology Expertise: 2+ years of experience working within AWS environments (preferred).

  • At least 3+ years of experience in business processes or technology implementation, including delivering scalable cloud-based applications with a focus on automation.

  • Hands-on experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, and/or Ansible.

  • Proven leadership experience (2+ years) in delivering web capabilities at a lead level or higher, preferably in eCommerce-focused environments.

  • Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery tools, release automation, and their evolution over time.

  • Strong understanding of online applications, including performance monitoring using tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Rigor, and Quantum.

Preferred Skills:

  • Python or Ruby coding experience: 3+ years

  • AWS technology exposure: 2+ years

  • Business process/technology implementation experience: 3+ years

  • Experience with IT systems implementation: 4+ years
