University of Pennsylvania Regional Anesthesiologist – Associate/Full Professor in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of regional anesthesiology. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. ABA certification in anesthesiology or status as a candidate in the examination system along with ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license are required. In addition, completion of fellowship training in regional anesthesiology and acute pain medicine or chronic pain medicine is required. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Teaching responsibilities may include the instruction and/or supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the operating rooms and wards of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) as well as participation in lectures, small groups, workshops, and/or simulation sessions.

Clinical responsibilities may include the provision of clinical anesthesia and ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia blocks (including single-shot peripheral nerve blocks, fascial plane blocks, indwelling continuous peripheral nerve and fascial plane catheters, and neuraxial blocks and catheters) at HUP and PPMC.
