The Real-World Analytics (RWA) Scientist uses data and methodological expertise to develop study and protocol designs and statistical analysis plans (SAPs) for the analysis of existing complex health data sets, including real-world data (RWD). This work is conducted in collaboration with Scientists in the Epidemiology organization, and other colleagues as part of matrix teams. These teams work to translate evidence needs into a robust program of studies to support appropriate access to and evidence for GSK medicines.

Specific Responsibilities: The responsibilities listed below outline the scope of the position. The application of these tasks may vary, based upon evolving business needs.

Design and Analysis Manage individual studies to ensure delivery of quality work to agreed timelines Share real-world data (RWD) and methodological expertise with teams to inform study planning, development, and delivery Understand and appraise specific elements (methods, design, analytics, sample/size) of protocol during development. Author specifications for analytic data sets for all RWA activities (rapid data queries, retrospective observational studies, and other studies) to ensure appropriate interpretation and implementation of analytic design, in collaboration with a team of programmers. Conduct hands-on programming to manipulate and analyze complex health data sets and conduct statistical analyses Critically review results for accuracy/completeness, considering design assumptions and knowledge of the data. Ensure documentation is appropriate regarding data manipulation, statistical analysis, reporting Author, maintain, finalize, and archive project delivery documentation for in-sourced studies in accordance with SOPs Perform quality control (QC) of work products from other colleagues

Communication of Results Contribute to oral and written communication of analytic and study results, including results interpretation and drawing appropriate inferences based on study design/statistical methods as well as assessment of study limitations. Co-author and bring statistical/methodological expertise to scientific publications

Therapy Area Knowledge Understand basic therapy area (TA) and asset strategy in order to apply appropriate tools (e.g., variable definitions, code lists) and use appropriate data sources

Leadership and Teamwork Effectively collaborate with study and matrix teams for high-quality and timely delivery of work products. Maintain currency with methods for the use of existing complex health datasets for research Apply innovative, fit-for-purpose methodologic and analytic approaches to solve critical problems Merge scientific thinking and business knowledge to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement solutions Proactively influence team members regarding appropriate research/statistical design and analytics delivery through various engagement forums Manage analysis timelines and keep manager/supervisor and matrix leaders informed of progress and activities; escalate issues as appropriate. Take responsibility for timely completion of all assigned development tasks. Why you?Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: MS in a quantitative discipline such as epidemiology, health economics, health services research, health informatics, or biostatistics 1+ year prior experience working with RWD for use in pharmacoepidemiology and/or health outcomes research and experience in biostatistics applied to clinical/epidemiological research Experience working with statistical/analytic software (e.g., SAS, R, SQL, IHD) Fluency in written and spoken English is required Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: PhD degree, or Masters + 3 years of related experi nce, in a quantitative discipline such as epidemiology, health economics, health services research, health informatics, or biostatistics Prior experience working within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, preferably in real-world evidence, epidemiology, or health outcomes functional areas A good understanding of drug development processes and strategies, with proven ability to apply innovative statistical thinking to meet project and/or business objectives Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and enjoy finding efficient and innovative solutions to challenging problems Self-reliant with the ability to deliver robust, timely, high-quality analytics Enthusiastic collaborator and enjoy working on a wide range of projects and requests across multiple Tas Ability to work and interact with matrix partners across the organization Strong problem-solving skills, ability to address conflicts/issues and make decisions to achieve results Ability to work with a minimum of supervision Excellent organizational and planning skills Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English #LI-GSKThe annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $114,028 to $154,273 , taking into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $114,028 to $154,273 taking into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role.
