DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Quality Assurance Officer (Motor Vehicle Program Inspector), your main role will be to organize and conduct audits of inspection stations. These audits are crucial in ensuring that all regulations, statutes, and protocols within the safety inspection program are being followed. During the audit process, you will also play a vital role in identifying and reporting any fraudulent activities. Additionally, you will provide technical and administrative support to ensure program compliance. Managing a large caseload, you will guide audited program inspectors and coordinate the daily operations in a specific geographic region. Your responsibilities will also include conducting administrative audits on participating safety inspection stations to ensure that proper processes and procedures are being followed, and compliance with regulations and the Vehicle Code is maintained. This will involve reviewing and analyzing station records, verifying the security and use of inspection certificates, and ensuring the overall integrity of the safety inspection program. Furthermore, you will conduct investigative audits, both overt and covert, independently or in collaboration with law enforcement. Additionally, you will perform comprehensive safety re-inspections on vehicles to ensure their safe operation. Lastly, you will be responsible for investigating any complaints from law enforcement or customers regarding vehicle inspections.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Flex time and overtime as required This position is responsible for auditing inspection stations in Butler County.  The headquarters may be located at the driver license center in this county depending upon the selected candidate's current location. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience in an automotive repair related field such as: service writer/advisor; technical manual writer; automotive tool and equipment salesman/serviceman; auto mechanic; or auto shop foreman and a high school diploma; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

This position requires possession of a Pennsylvania Safety Mechanics Certification within 90 days of the date of employment.

Additional Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid PA Class non-commercial driver's license. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
