DESCRIPTION OF WORK A Quality Assurance Officer (Motor Vehicle Program Inspector) is responsible for organizing and performing audits of inspection stations. An employee in this position must have a valid driver's license to travel within an assigned geographic region. Audits are performed, and recommendations are made to ensure compliance with all regulations, statutes, and protocols within the safety inspection program. While performing an audit, this employee serves as the first-line defense in recognizing and reporting fraudulent activity. This employee provides technical and administrative information during the audit process to ensure program compliance.

The employee, in this class, manages a large caseload, provides guidance to audited program inspectors, and coordinates the difficult and complex daily operation in a specific geographic region for the division. This employee performs administrative audits on participating safety inspection stations, to ensure processes and procedures are being followed and to ensure compliance with regulation and the Vehicle Code. This employee is responsible for reviewing and analyzing all station records, validating security and use of certificates of inspection, and ensuring the integrity of the safety inspection program. This employee also conducts investigative audits, overt and covert audits, independently and in cooperation with law enforcement, and performs complete safety re-inspections on vehicles to ensure the vehicle is safe for operation. This employee investigates law enforcement and customer complaints related to vehicle inspections.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Flex time and overtime as required This position is responsible for auditing inspection stations in Crawford and Lawrence counties. The headquarters may be located at the driver license center in one of these counties, depending upon the selected candidate's current location. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience in an automotive repair related field such as: service writer/advisor; technical manual writer; automotive tool and equipment salesman/serviceman; auto mechanic; or auto shop foreman and a high school diploma; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

This position requires possession of a Pennsylvania Safety Mechanics Certification within 90 days of the date of employment.

Additional Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid PA Class non-commercial driver's license. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
