Marketing Coordinator, Partnerships and Events

Job Summary:

  • The Marketing Coordinator, Partnerships and Events, supports the brand strategy and partnership marketing team as well as collaborates with the Marketing team, Business Development team and clinical program leadership to create and deliver engaging events that support the business-building efforts of the health system.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute a wide range of marketing events to support identified goals.

  • Incorporates innovation and creativity to deliver unique and memorable events. Establishes relationships with vendors and community contacts to support event theming.

  • Oversees external resources to ensure seamless execution of events. Includes management of and collaboration with outside companies and freelancers to plan and carryout events ensuring timelines are adhered to, deliverables fall within budget, and results meet expectations. Effectively addresses concerns and negotiates contract discounts as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with internal teams including Brand, Enterprise Growth, Creative Services to create marketing materials and tactics for timely promotion of event(s). Ensure brand consistency (messaging and design) across all collateral/promotions.

  • Ensures event expenditures meet budget requirements. Tracks expenses and reports back to key stakeholders.

  • Maximizes best practices and past learnings as it relates to planning and execution of in-person and virtual events. Prepares an evaluation of efforts, communicating with stakeholders as appropriate. Offers recommendations for change.

  • Supports the partnership marketing team with executing the benefits of the agreements.

  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (Required).

  • Education Specialization:Marketing, Business, Communications, Science or English (Preferred).

  • 5+ years of Marketing and/or Special Events Planning experience (Required).

  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in the health care or wellness industry (Required).

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral skills.

  • Ability to effectively negotiate with external vendors to ensure products and services provided meet the expectations of the client.

  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Understanding of brand standards and appropriate usage.

  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
