Job Description:

The Program Management Manager will be responsible for managing production and development programs on DOD programs as the Prime or Major Subcontractor. The position requires demonstrated customer interface skills, strong interpersonal communications skills, and the ability to create and independently carry through on a strategic business plan. We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter to help instill program excellence in our business.

Essential Functions:

  • Program planning and execution.

  • New business capture and proposal management in conjunction with Business Development.

  • Responsible for ensuring programs comply with Division and Corporate Program Management Office policies and procedures including technical, schedule and financial baselines and change management.

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships.

  • Support program Financial, Schedule, and technical performance development and startup.

  • Ensures the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business, product competitiveness and profitability.

  • Develop and implement techniques to improve business, program, organizational efficiencies and driving profitability.

  • Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs. Reports key results to corporate leadership.

  • Communicates strategy and results to the business unit's employees.

  • Coordinates the development of key performance goals for the program management function and direct reports.

  • Ensures the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.

  • Responsible for all phases of programs from inception through completion.

  • Drives program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs.

  • Ensures the overall delivery and quality of the business unit's offerings to customers.

  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems, and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications.

  • Engages in key or targeted customer activities. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.

  • Provides direct management of Program Managers in the business unit.

  • Directs the work of employees assigned to the program office administrative areas. Oversees key hiring and talent development programs.

  • Program Management over all facets of the lifecycle of a program.

  • Program Management in a production environment.

  • Expertise in change management on large DOD programs

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in pursuit and capture of new business.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent customer facing skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suites (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • US Citizenship required.

  • Must be able to obtain and secure a Secret clearance, TS/SCI preferred after start.

  • Minimum 10% travel.

  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Requires management and leadership knowledge in job area. Typically obtained with a combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Discipline with nine (9) years of program management with competitive proposal development and management experience.

  • Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of program management with competitive proposal development and management experience.

  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of program management with competitive proposal development and management experience.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Master’s degree (MS or MBA).

  • Experience with the US Nuclear Navy.
